Playing Condition Repairs:
•Instruments can be dropped off or worked on while you wait.
•These repairs include everything from minor adjustments to routine maintenance and emergency repairs.
•Customers are billed the hourly bench rate + the cost of pads for the work that is required.
Student and Intermediate Instrument Repair Services:
I am available to work on student and intermediate model saxophones, clarinets, & flutes. I believe that regardless of the level and ability of the player, it is important that the instrument is in good working order. Generally, most repairs for these types of instruments will be playing condition jobs. However, because student and intermediate model instruments are of a lesser value than a professional or vintage model, this needs to be taken into consideration when addressing what repairs are needed and the cost of the repairs.
Please contact me to bring your instrument in for an estimate. If you feel that it is in need of a repad or overhaul it is best for me to have the instrument in-hand to assess what is needed and estimate accordingly.
Professional Saxophone Repair Services:
Clean, Oil and Adjust (aka COA): starting at $350
•Includes disassembly and cleaning of the body, neck, rods, pivot screws, hinge tubes, pivot receivers and rollers
•Springs checked for overall integrity and wear/corrosion; cleaned and/or replaced when necessary
•Corks and felts replaced (as needed)
•Replace up to 4 pads (as needed; additional pads extra)
•Mechanism is lubricated and adjustments are made upon reassembly
Basic Overhaul (aka Repad):
•Includes a Clean, Oil, and Adjust + replacing all pads, cork and felts
•Neck tenon fit (as needed)
•Minor key fitting and tone hole leveling (as needed)
•All springs are replaced and spring tension is set throughout (as needed)
•Blued Steel Needle Springs are an additional $150
•Nickel Plated Needle Springs are an additional $200 (recommended for coastal areas)
Includes six month warranty (more information below)
Full Overhaul (aka Mechanical Restoration):
•Includes all the services of a Basic Overhaul along with the following additional services:
•Straightening the body tube and minor dent work
•Leveling of tone holes
•Alignment of posts
•Straightening rods and hinge tubes
•Leveling of pad cups and aligning pad cups with tone holes
•Key fitting; eliminating all lateral movement in the mechanism by fitting the keys between posts and to the rods and pivots screws
•All springs are replaced and spring tension is set throughout (as needed)
•Blued Steel Needle Springs are an additional $150
•Nickel Plated Needle Springs are an additional $200 (recommended for coastal areas)
Includes one year warranty (more information below)
Professional Clarinet Repair Services:
Repads, and overhauls for clarinets will be assessed with the instrument in-hand only.
Clean, Oil and Adjust (COA): starting at $200
•Body and bore of the instrument and cleaned and oiled
•Includes disassembly and cleaning of hinge tubes, pivot receivers, rods and pivot screws
•Springs checked for overall integrity and wear/corrosion; cleaned and/or replaced when necessary
•Cracks in the body are repaired (as needed)
•Corks and felts replaced (as needed)
•Replace up to 4 pads (as needed; additional pads extra)
•Tenon corks replaced (as needed)
•Keys polished (as needed)
•Mechanism is lubricated and adjustments are made upon reassembly
Repad: starts at $350
•Includes a Clean, Oil, and Adjust + replacing all pads, cork and felts
Includes six month warranty (more information below)
Overhaul: starts at $650
•Includes all the services of a Repad along with the following additional services:
•Tone holes are resurfaced
•Loose posts are tightened
•Hinge rods and keys straightened
•Key fitting; eliminating all lateral movement in the mechanism by fitting the keys between posts
•Lost motion is removed from the mechanism
•Register and thumb tubes are checked for leaks and sealed

For clarinet repads and overhauls I recommend Valentino synthetic pads. I offer either the Valentino Greenback or Master's Series pads depending on the instrument. Traditional and cork pads are available upon request.
Flute Repair Services:
COA's, repads, and overhauls for beginner, intermediate and professional flutes will be assessed with the instrument in-hand only.
FINAL ESTIMATES & PRICING are done with the instrument in-hand only.
Every instrument has a different life and has different needs. It is virtually impossible to properly diagnose a problem and calculate the cost of a repair without looking over the instrument in detail. The prices listed above do not include sales tax and are to be used as a guide only.
Warranty:
Overhauls for student and intermediate instruments come with a 6 month warranty. Overhauls on professional and vintage instruments come with a one year warranty. This warranty is for all work performed and applies under conditions of normal use, but does not apply to defects that result from abuse or neglect. Warranties do not cover repair work that is not done by Tim Dolzine Woodwinds. Defects not included under this warranty include, but are not limited to: dents, bent or broken keys or rods, torn pads, or any other such damage deemed abusive. It is at the sole discretion of Tim Dolzine Woodwinds to determine if a defect is covered under this warranty.
